Milled D-Log Log Homes

D-logs are round on the exterior side and flat on the interior side. Also known as milled or machined logs, they come in various sizes depending on your desired look or budget, the most popular being 8"x8". The advantage of D-logs is that the rounded exterior gives the home the traditional log home look from the outside, with the advantage of a flat interior side, which is easier to dust. Also the smooth interior surface can be modified with paint or drywall, and it's simpler to hang things on the flat, interior surface of a D-log.

Handcrafted Log Homes

Handcrafted log homes have a more traditional, rustic look. The logs are processed, hand peeled, pre-assembled, and inspected according to strict quality standards. During the assembly at the manufacturing facility, the expert woodworkers ensure the log walls will remain tight throughout the natural seasoning and settling process. Each log is hand-peeled with a drawknife, hand scribed, chiselled and cut with chain saws to form a perfect fit to the log below. The logs are marked carefully according to the construction plan, disassembled, then shipped directly to your location for reassembly.

Swedish Cope Log Homes

Log Corner -- Swedish Cope with Saddle NotchThe Swedish Cope log home style uses round logs that have a concave groove removed from the bottom of each log to allow the logs to stack firmly on each other. This groove is machined to exact specifications to create a load-bearing, weather-tight seal. The advantage of the Swedish Cope style is that it appeals to homeowners who prefer the rounded logs on both the exterior and interior sides of the home. Aesthetically pleasing, the Swedish Cope log can be used in both internal and external walls to give the look of full, round logs.
